Texas Hospitality Association
Commitment to Responsibility
The Texas Hospitality Association (THA) has a longstanding, demonstrated commitment to responsibility.
The THA is dedicated to promoting responsible decision-making regarding beverage alcohol, and our members make this commitment to responsibility possible through their collective action.
The THA represents our state’s hospitality industry, which is defined as any place that sells or serves beverage alcohol. Texas’ hospitality industry plays an active role in the fight against the misuse of alcohol and supports the development of alcohol education programs.
While the vast majority of people who enjoy beverage alcohol do so responsibly and are making socially acceptable choices, irresponsible alcohol use is unacceptable. The THA works with a wide range of local, state and national organizations to ensure that beverage alcohol products are used responsibly and not misused or consumed illegally.
In partnership with The Century Council, the THA develops and implements programs that advocate the importance of making responsible decisions regarding beverage alcohol. We also execute campaigns directed at eradicating the misuse of alcohol, such as our public education campaigns to prevent underage drinking. Our members’ active involvement in these efforts reflects the industrywide commitment to responsibility.
The THA works under the principle, “Solving the problem of alcohol abuse is simple. All it takes is everyone.” Our members are proud to work alongside the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC), legislators and educators, traffic safety, law enforcement and health officials and community-based organizations to put our shared commitment to responsibility into action.
